The Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Mr Mohamed Abdul Jaleel is the Founder and CEO of The MES Group.   Mr Jaleel started MES in 1977 and has, with far-sightedness and tenacity, grown the business   over the years with impressive results.

Coming from humble beginnings and the only son in a family of seven,   life for Mr Jaleel was a struggle in the early years.

After school, he helped out his father in a very small sundry shop and also juggled several odd jobs to generate extra income for the family.  To ease the family’s financial burden, Mr Jaleel sacrificed his further education ambitions to take on full-time employment after completing his Secondary School education.

His willingness to work hard and his eagerness to learn attracted the attention of the Managing Director of construction firm, Sum Cheong Piling Pte Ltd who sent him for training in construction.  This was the turning point for Mr Jaleel.

With knowledge of the construction industry, Mr Jaleel started MES as a sole-proprietorship providing environmental cleaning services, recruitment of manpower for the construction industry and also undertaking various sub-contract jobs in construction.  Over the years his nose for business transformed this fledgling company into a leading guest-worker accommodation builder and facilities operator and also spawned various other business interests that include logistics, trading and property development.

Mr Jaleel is actively involved in various community care activities and activities that enable him to fulfil his religious obligations.  An active member in Mosque Management Committees since 1981, he was appointed Chairman of the Bencoolen Mosque Management Board in Singapore in recognition of his dedication and contributions to the development of the mosque.  He is also concurrently active member, advisor and/or   patron of a number of community organizations and business associations. Despite his commitments and busy schedules he continues to set aside time for charitable endeavours, humanitarian causes, educational development of children,   and cultural and cross cultural engagement.  His generosity and sincerity has endeared him to many and he remains a beacon of inspiration for many in business and in life.

For rendering commendable public service, Mr Jaleel was conferred the PINGAT BAKTI MASYARAKAT (PBM), public  service medal by the President of the Republic of Singapore on 9th August 2005.
