Beginning operations in October 2002, it consists of seven residential blocks, between six and seven storeys built over 1.5 hectare of land in Kian Teck Lane. There is also an amenities block and an admin block. Many of the problems that arose from the other two dormitories are addressed in the building of this dormitory. This dormitory marks the shift away from the barrack style concept as practiced in Kaki Bukit Hostel and Jurong Island Dormitory. Companies housing their workers take up units similar to air-con ready two room HDB flats that are self contained with bedroom, living room, two sets of W.C., shower, and basins, and cooking as well as laundry areas. Tenants enjoy more privacy and better security that uses biometrics technology, as access to their units are only limited to their roommates. The units are also equipped with ample power points, telephone and MATV points, as well as a gas-powered heater for tenants to have hot showers after a hard day’s work.
